The Broken Patriot

"I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." –George Mason, Co-author of the Second Amendment

Mom Shoots Burglar During Home Invasion

Suddenly the .38 Revolver is hailed as the hero in this story.  I guess the media is telling us its OK to shoot a burglar with a revolver, but not an evil Assault Glock. This is the first time the type of weapon has been described so accurately in a self defense  that i can recall. I am glad there was only one intruder, there weren’t any rounds left. I wonder how a tactical reload would have went in this circumstance. All in all, great job, Mom.

  1. I generally stay away from these discussions but… I will say: I can see both sides on the issue. As I know a child that was killed in an accidently home shootings. I have also know a family where the husband did a murder suicide in front of their daughter. This wasn’t through the news, these were people connected to my life. I think there is a way to balance the issue. Should we give everyone who wants a gun a gun? No. Should we say no guns ever? No. But it is sad to me that people are put through the ringer way more for food stamps than guns.

    • The only way to balance the issue is to give innocent people access to the same offensive capability that criminals (who ignore the laws) and governments (redundant these days, I know) have. Switzerland has the world’s lowest crime rate because everyone there is issued a fully automatic assault rifle in addition to whatever guns they purchase personally.

The militia in Switzerland is every able bodied citizen. The same way it was in the US originally.

    • I see your point, but if you are not a felon, or deemed mentally defective, it is your right to bear arms. I am sorry for your personal loss, that must be tragic to lose friends that way.
